Lake Drive Improvements
Lake Drive East is being transformed between Civic Centre Road and South Drive into a seasonal multi-use pathway in the north lane for pedestrians and cyclists. Vehicles will travel one way eastbound on the south side of Lake Drive.
Getting around
Driving is the easiest way to explore, but YRT buses connect key areas like Keswick, Sutton and Pefferlaw. Cycling and walking trails offer scenic ways to discover parks, beaches and downtown villages. You can also catch a ferry to visit Georgina Island for a unique lakeside experience.
Many of the Town's destination parks and downtowns have tourism ambassador stations to help navigate your trip. For additional tourism information and to speak with a tourism ambassador, visit the Georgina Chamber of Commerce at 20849 Dalton Rd., in Sutton or at De La Salle Park at 1924 Metro Rd. N., in Jackson's Point (weather permitting).
Parking in Georgina
The Town offers a range of parking options and regulations. Pay-and-display parking is available at waterfront parks, with free parking for residents who display a valid parking pass. Winter parking restrictions are in effect from Nov. 15 to April 15, prohibiting on-street parking between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Parking rules and fines
Common violations include parking in fire routes, unauthorized use of accessible spaces and exceeding the three-hour street limit. Fines range from $100 to $300. A buffer zone near waterfront parks enforces stricter rules with increased fines to manage congestion.
Paying or disputing tickets
Tickets can be paid online, by mail or in person. To dispute a ticket, residents can request a Screening Review within 30 days. If unresolved, a Hearing Officer can review the case.
