Georgina’s rich history is showcased through several fascinating sites that tourists can explore. The Georgina Village Museum offers a glimpse into 19th-century life with restored buildings like a schoolhouse, train station and blacksmith shop, alongside an extensive archival collection.
St. George’s Anglican Church features a historic stone building and the gravesites of notable Canadian writers Stephen Leacock and Mazo de la Roche. Nearby, the historic Briars Resort is home to the unique Peacock House and a manor built in 1840, a fine example of Regency architecture.
The Georgina Military Museum brings history to life with military vehicles, artefacts, and presentations covering conflicts from Upper Canada’s early days to modern peacekeeping missions. Within Sibbald Point Provincial Park, the Eildon Hall Museum – a once the Sibbald family residence – displays 19th-century artifacts and furniture inside one of the area's oldest rural manors.
Briars Resort
The Briars is the site of a number of historic buildings, with the most notable being the octagonal-shaped Peacock House, the only one in Ontario. The manor house is comprised of a central rubblestone structure built in 1840 and two flanking wings clad in brick added in 1880. Despite the setbacks of the wings, the building appears as a unified structure and its central portion is regarded as a fine example of Regency architecture.

Located on the grounds of Sibbald Point Provincial Park, Eildon Hall Museum – one of the oldest structures in the area – was the residence of Susan Mein Sibbald (1783-1866), a pioneer in the area.
The home was expanded and transformed into an extensive rural manor. The estate remained in the Sibbald family until 1952. Eildon Hall Museum displays 19th century artifacts and furniture.
