You can cast your line at one of the local fishing sites on the shorelines of the lake or one of the rivers. If you prefer to make a day of it out on the water, local marinas and some parks have boat launches available.

For those who are looking to try recreational fishing for the first time, you can fish for free on the Mother’s Day or Father’s Day weekends when a license is not required. One-day licenses can be purchased online or in person at Canadian Tire in Keswick or the Mobil Service Station in Sutton for $12.21 (2025 rate).

Make sure to check Ontario’s fishing regulations before you head out or plan your trip.
